The third child of five born to Adeyemi Huston and Kelle Huston, Nyjah’s father was a former skateboarder. Adeyemi was a tyrant who brought his family up in the Rastafarian lifestyle, dictating what his wife and children could eat, what they could wear, what they could do, and overall, being the dominant patriarch.
Being a skateboarder himself, Adeyemi started training Nyjah to follow in his footsteps when he turned 5. Adeyemi purchased an indoor skate park so Nyjah could train every day.
His father abruptly packed up with his family and moved to Costa Rica where Nyjah’s parents had a falling out. His mother and his other siblings left for America, leaving Nyjah with his father.
When Kelle officially filed for divorce, Nyjah granted sole custody and reunited with Nyjah after over a year apart.
