She got married to Ludlow Ogden Smith, on December 12, 1928, when she was 21 years old.

Their marriage was never serious and Hepburn was more committed to her career than the marriage and after they moved to Hollywood, they became fully estranged.

Apart from this, her most public and perhaps significant relationship was with Spencer Tracy who co-starred with her on 9 occasions.

She never had any kids considering being a mother a fulltime commitment.
