Scott began investing in real estate along with his brother following their graduation. The twin brothers purchased their first investment property for $200 thousand and made a $50,000 profit.

He moved to Vancouver at the age of 19 and began building large-scale illusions with the goal of eventually developing a touring theater show. Unfortunately, Jonathan was tricked by a man who stole his entire production which destroyed the show and left him with a $80,000 in debt. At 20, he filed for bankruptcy.

He later enrolled at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and became licensed as a contractor.

In 2009, the twins were offered a show called My Dream Home which based around them and their work. The show was picked up by W Network in Canada and became the no.1 rated show on the network.

The following year, they founded Scott Brothers Entertainment with office in the U.S. and Canada. In 2011, they produced the reality television show Property Brothers which is now aired in over 150 countries.

The twins has been investing, buying, selling, and flipping properties for over a decade now. Their TV show spin-offs Buying and Selling and Brother vs. Brother airs in HGTV.

Jonathan Silver Scott was born on 28th April 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to Joanne and Jim Scott. He holds a Canadian nationality and has White-Caucasian ethnic descent.
