Divorce From Tina Turner And Domestic Violence Allegations

There were some allegations that Ike was still legally married to Alice, who he got wedded to in Helena, Arkansas, USA. As was the case with many of Ike’s relationships, Tina and Ike’s relationship was also rocky.

A lot of controversies followed when finally, tensions boiled over after a violent incident in July 1976, and Tina filed for divorce. The legal battle was lengthy and finalized in March 1978.

As per the divorce settlement, Tina took financially responsible for missed concert dates and an IRS lien. Tina was given the royalties of her songs with Ike, she also took possession of two Jaguar cars, furs and jewelry along with her stage name.

Tina came forward and said to the public that he almost killed her several times when he beat her in a rage. She also claimed that he raped her multiple times.

It was later revealed that Ike had apologized to Tina, she said that she had forgiven him but denied a tour with him.

The singer has an extensive discography over the 5 decades he worked as a musician. His first studio album was released in 1962 titled Dance With Ike & Tina Turner’s Kings of Rhythm. Then the next year, Rocks The Blues came out.

A Black Man’s Soul was released in 1969 and then Blues Roots was released in 1972. A year later, Blues Roots came out.

After a short hiatus, he released his next studio album in 1980 called The Edge which featured Tina Turner and Home Grown Funk.

Turner was married at least 10 times during the course of his life, his first marriage dates back to when he was 16 years old and had increased his age 4 years on his documents to get married.

Some of his former wives include Rosa Lee Sane, Velma Davis, Edna Dean Stewart, Marion Louis Lee among others.

Death

The star passed December 12, aged 76 he had already said to Falina Rasool that he felt he was dying and would not see Christmas on December 10, 2007.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the cause of death to be cocaine overdose, over the course of his life, Ike was always in the habit of drugs.
