Eddie Bravo is an American martial arts instructor, actor as well as a comedian who is famous for developing his own Jiu-jitsu style and founding the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. Bravo is also known for creating the Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) grappling competition along with its ruleset.

Started Career As a Musician & Later In Marital Artist
Having an interest in music since his childhood days, Eddie started his career as a musician in 1991. He formed a band named Blackened Kill Symphony.
On the other side, he also used to take karate classes and later on, developed an interest in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and so, he started taking class in 1994.
After four years of practice, he got the blue belt and the following year, he earned a purple belt. After this, he developed a signature guard, the rubber guard.
His first tournament participation was in the Abu-Dhabi Combat Club in 2003 as a brown belt. He’s won a number of competitions including the North American Trails. He retired from competitive martial arts in 2014.

At first, he opened the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu school in Los Angeles, California where he serves as an operator as well as the head instructor.
In 2014, he created the EBI, a no-gi, submission-only grappling tournament. In 2016, EBI teamed up with the UFC to stream EBI on UFC Fight Pass.
