Dr. Dre was born as Andre Romelle Young in Compton, California, on February 18, 1965, to parents Theodore and Verna Young. He is the eldest of 4 brothers; Jerome, Tyree and Warren G.

He attended Centennial High School in Compton during his freshman year but transferred to Fremont High School due to poor grades.
