Dick Van Dyke was born on December 13, 1925, in West Plains, Missouri. He is the son of Loren Van Dyke, a salesman and Hazel Van Dyke, a stenographer. He has a brother named Jerry Van Dyke, was a comedian and actor (1931-2018).

In 1944, Dyke left high school and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. There, he became a radio announcer. He was discharged from the service in 1945. The comedian earned his high school diploma at 78, in 2004.

He Has Been Married Twice  

Dick Dyke first tied the knot with Marjorie Torrell Willett, on 12th Feb 1948, on the radio show Bride and Groom. The couple shared four children; two sons Christian Van Dyke and Barry Van Dyke, and two daughters named Stacy Van Dyke, and Carrie Beth Van Dyke. Their years-long marriage relationship ended on 4th May 1984.

Dyke spent nearly 30-years with his longtime partner Michelle Triola, an actress, until her death in 2009. For the second time, the actor went on to marry his second wife, Arlene Silver, a make-up artist on February 29, 2012, at the age of 86. The two first met six-year ago at the SGA awards function.
