Following the divorce, her second husband Garrett Warren was shot four times on 20th May 2000. He suspected the culprit to be Claudia but the authorities found no evidence pointing her involvement in the attempt.
To top that, Haro had an alibi to help her out. The case was shut for two years until a vital evidence led the officials towards the retired actresses’ brother, Manuel.
Further investigations revealed that Claudia Haro was the mastermind behind the crime. She was arrested in December 2005 on charges related to attempt to murder.
She pleaded no contest on counts of attempted murder and a principal firearm charge and was sentenced to jail in April 2012. Haro also paid $1.25 million as bail money.
She was released in August 2019 after serving 12 years and 4 months in the penitentiary.
