Formerly the member of Village Idiot, a grunge cover band, Chad Kroeger founded the Hanna, Alberta-based rock band Nickelback in 1995.
With himself in the lead vocals & lead guitars, the co-founding members were his brother Mike Kroeger (bassist), cousin Brandon Kroeger (drums, 1995- 1997) & Ryan Peake (rhythm guitars & keyboard).
