Bolo Yeung’s Career

After initially fitting into the muscular bad guy trope with the producer duo, Shaw Brothers Studios, he left and met Bruce Lee while filming a cigarette commercial. The two quickly became friends, and Lee called him to work on Enter the Dragon.

Then in 1974, he got a job in the film Super Kung Fu Kid in the role of Tiger. He also did a lot of work in various other martial art films. Some notable films that he worked in in the 1970s include The Clones of Bruce Lee, Drunken Master, Enter the Game of Death, Treasure of Bruce Lee, etc.

He got his breakthrough in mainstream action films with Bloodsport as Chong Li. He worked alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in the film. They also became close friends, and he was later invited by Van Damme to work as the antagonist on Double Impact.

Another close friend of the martial artist is the producer and actor Jalal Merhi. The pair worked on Fearless Tiger, where they met. Then they met again while filming Double Impact. Mehri and Yeung worked together on 3 more films titled Tiger Claws, TC 2000, and Tiger Claws 2.

Mehri also cast Bolo in one of his only roles as a protagonist in the film Blizhniy Boy: The Ultimate Fighter.

In fact, his parents enrolled him in a martial art school when he was just 10 years old. Then as a young man, he developed a keen interest in bodybuilding.

In spite of being one of the most popular actors to come out of the Hong Kong martial art movie industry scene, he has kept the details of his relationship under wraps. However, some sources claim that he has 2 sons named Danny Yeung and David Yeung.
