She spent her childhood splitting time between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Hyattsville, Maryland. The 39-year-old attended Iowa State University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor in Science degree in Animal Science.
She relocated to Chicago soon thereafter and integrated herself into the dance and theatre culture of the city.
She also attended the prestigious Julliard School in New York City and graduated with a graduate diploma in drama.
